Biological Treatment Summary

The Situation

A major PGA Tour Championship golf course was experiencing algae problems in three of their water hazards on the course. These had traditionally been problems due to excessive nutrients from fertilizers used on the course running off into the ponds creating sufficient food to support excessive organic growth. The surface of the ponds were covered with an algae mat, the water was murky, and the ponds had strong odors.

The Solution

Bio-Form LLC proposed an initial maintenance and follow-up treatment program that consisted of the addition of BZT® Aquaculture into the ponds to eliminate the organic load and odor problem, and re-establish the water clarity.

The Results

After two weeks of beginning Bio-Form LLC's treatment program, BZT® Aquaculture improved the water clarity in the ponds to the highest levels in recent history. Organic build-up was brought under control, and the personnel at the golf course began to notice fish living in the ponds they did not know existed. Four months after treating with BZT® Aquaculture; the results amazed the staff at the course. The water had cleared so golf balls could be seen six to eight feet deep, and the staff discovered a decorative wall under the water that no one knew existed. Organic loading had been brought under control, and the unpleasant odors had disappeared.
