Biological Treatment Summary

The Situation

A manufacturing plant was facing compliance problems with nitrate levels from their manufacturing process that were accumulating in four industrial settling ponds. Nitrate levels were well over the regulatory limit of 2.0 mg/L and the company was facing compliance fines.

The Solution

Bio-Form LLC proposed a bioaugmentation program that consisted of the addition of BZT® Aquaculture in the four ponds. It was proposed that a large initial seed application be performed followed by regular weekly maintenance applications to overcome and take biological control of the ponds.

The Results

Within two months, nitrate levels fell below regulatory limits with results below 1.5 mg/L. Bio-Form LLC worked with the company, developing a maintenance application program to keep levels within regulatory limits.
