Biological Treatment Summary

The Situation

A large manufacturing company was having heavy tramp oil accumulation in their synthetic machine coolants causing bad odors and the need to frequently change out the coolants in their machine tools.

The Solution

Bio-Form LLC implemented a program using OBT® oil degradation treatment directly in the machine coolants to breakdown the tramp oils and control the odors.

The Results

After four days of starting the Bio-Form LLC OBT® program, the tramp oils were broken down and the odors were gone. The manufacturing manager at first was worried the treatment may breakdown the waylube oil on the machine slides, it did not. The machine operators stated the machines were cleaner because the OBT® was eliminating buildup of tramp oils on the machines. The OBT® treatment did not affect the tool life or viscosity of the coolant. It worked well on highly charged or lowly charged machines.
