Reduction
A rendering
facility
faced
numerous
issues
with
its
series
of wastewater
lagoons.
- Sludge
build
up
had
begun
to
take
over
the
lagoon,
decreasing
capacity
and
putting
regulatory
limits
in
jeopardy.
- Oil
and
grease
caps
had
taken
over
two
of
the
lagoons,
limiting
their
ability
to
aerate
the
system.
- Local
residents
complained
about
odors
produced
from
the
lagoons.
The
company's
only
known
solution
was
to dredge
the
lagoons
and
dispose
of the
sludge!
After
utilizing
Bio-Form LLC's
BZT®
Waste
Digester
program,
the
Oil
and
Grease
caps
had
been
taken
under
control,
the
odors
had
been
eliminated,
and
after
120
days,
the
sludge
depth
readings
showed
over
60%
reduction
in sludge.
The
rendering
facility
continues
to rely
upon
BZT®
Waste
Digester
to maintain
performance
and
regulatory
limits.
