COD AND TSS REDUCTION - INDUSTRIAL TREATMENT FACILITY

Biological Treatment Summary

The Situation

One of the leading professional waste treatment professionals in the state of Arkansas, now working as an industry consultant, had spend eight months attempting to get a small industrial treatment facility into compliance. He employed very conventional method of treatment available for such a situation: and he had achieved significant improvements in its operations status. However, the plant is not large enough to handle the volume of waste that is generated by the local feed mill; and even minor fluctuations in the waste stream was creating such a major "upset" condition that compliance seemed unattainable without expansion of the plant.

The Solution

The plant consists of a small aeration basin, clarifier, sludge holding tank and a UV radiation station at the discharge portal. Our treatment with BZT® Waste Digester commenced on February 19th; but a major acid upset occurred at the feed mill on the following day. So, we re-seeded on February 22nd and, since that time, "half-size" maintenance application have been conducted twice weekly.

Unk.

Both the customer and the consultant are ecstatic over the results we have achieved. We accomplished in a few weeks what previously had been unattainable for months: and we did it without any plant expansion. We are confident that the success of this endeavor will create opportunities for us to assist this national agriculture & food production company with future projects.
